Toggle-Anker oder Toggle-BolzenThey look like regular screws, but have a butterfly lever on the end. They also come in different shapes and sizes. But they all do the same thing, that is, they fasten the screws that hold the TVStand securely attached to the wallwithout causing damage.
They go straight to the wall and are anchored. The lever on the back prevents them from coming loose no matter how much force is applied across the wall.
When you pull, all of the drywall responds to the weight, not just the brittle center. As such, we think it's a solid option for wall-mounting a TV stand over a fireplace.
Molly BoltThey are another option to try. However, they can be more difficult to install than others.drywall anchorif you are a beginner. They are designed for medium to large weights.
If you have the opportunity, we recommend that you go for it.sharp molly pinsbecause they are easier to useno mounting hole. Essharp edgeIt can be easily installed with a hammer.Sinnlose Molly Buttons,On the other hand, they are more suitable forplastered walls.
Consider a mounting plate
AMounting plateIt is a good choice for use with anchors. They are mostly made of steel, but we recommend that you buy ones that are made of plywood. This helps presenters load the TV more easily.
When it comes to aesthetics, mounting plates might not be all that appealing, especially when they're larger than the TV. Therefore, it is recommended that the mounting plate be smaller than the TV to allow the screen to cover the metal or plywood.
Get roof mounts
While this method isn't as popular as standard wall brackets, you can try ceiling-mounting your TV.It gives your space a modern look, but it can be more complex and tedious than you'd like.

In most cases, you'll find wall studs in the wall above your fireplace. use high qualitystudy finderto locate the pins before attaching the bracket.
The use of wall studs results in a more secure hold. Therefore, all other wall hanging methods should be used as a second option.
Things to consider when mounting your TV without wall studs
There are some important factors to consider when mounting your pinless TV:
- The weight of television.
Choose an anchor that will support the weight of your TV. For example, for a 32-inch screen, you need an anchor that can support 30 pounds of weight. For a big screen it would be more. This is indicated on the packaging when you buy it, or you can ask your seller.
- The condition of your wall.
For both methods to work, your wall must be in good condition. If this is not the case, we recommend that you take all necessary precautions before assembling the TV.
- frame quality
We don't recommend buying a cheap mount to save a few bucks. Make an investment and buy a good TVWall bracket that fitsthe weight and size of your TV.
- the frame type
Anchors can carry mobile and fixed assemblies. It depends on your preferences to get the best. One thing to watch out for is that movement adds more weight, so anchors may not be as suitable as a mounting plate.
Is it safe to mount your TV above a fireplace?
We do not recommend hanging the TV above a chimney if possible.
Not only is there a risk of the TV overheating when the fireplace is in use, but the height of the fireplace requires you to hang the TV quite high. This makes the viewing angle very uncomfortable when watching TV.
However, if you are determined to mount your TV above the fireplace, we recommend hanging it at the right height.
Another thing you can do is not use the fireplace when the TV is mounted.Soot and heat from fire can seriously damage your TV.
How do you mount a TV over a chimney without rivets?
If you want to hang a flat screen TV above your fireplace without screws, drywall anchors won't support the weight.
So you need a much safer one.wall mount, especially for a fully articulated assembly.
Here are some steps to safely mount your TV above a chimney:
Choose a TV wall mount
As mentioned earlier, choose a wall mount that matches the weight and size of your space.
Due to the high viewing angle of a TV on a stove, we recommend that you opt for tilting brackets for your TV.
This allows you to tilt the TV downwards for a more comfortable viewing experience. At the same time, avoid swing arm mounts as they add extra weight to wall anchors.
When mounting a TV without screws, the best option is to use a fixed motion bracket. Avoid full pivot brackets as they can stress the wall anchors due to their weight.
Decision on the position of the TV
This is the most important step as it determines the location of your TV. You need to hang the TV at the right height or you may experience neck strain in the future.
Here are some things to consider:
- Hang your TV as close to eye level as possible (while sitting).
- hang your tv12 inchesAbove the fireplace you will use the fireplace.
You may find that these two points are contradictory. For safety reasons, hang the TV away from the fireplace. However, if you don't intend to use the fireplace, you can ignore this rule and hang it directly over the fireplace.
Mark the wall mounting holes in the drywall
Once you've found the right height for your TV stand, secure it against the wall. You need to make sure it's centered and level.
Then take a pencil to mark each hole where a toggle bolt will be inserted.Attach the bracket to the wall.
Follow these steps:
- Use a tape measure to see if the TV bracket is high enough above the fireplace to install at the correct height.
- Use a spirit level to be sure. The bracket is level when placed against the wall.
- If necessary, you can also temporarily hang the support with finishing nails to adjust the height and level.
- Use a pencil to label the wall where each wall anchor will be installed to secure the TV bracket to the wall.
to ensure thattv wall bracketsare level, we recommend the help of a second person. It's also a good idea to use a level and tape measure to verify that the bracket is parallel to the chimney before marking.
drill pilot holes
To do this, use an electric drill. It would also be beneficial to have your anchor bolts with you during this step.
Drill pilot holes in the wall where each pencil mark was made in the last step.
Note: The holes must be large enough to allow a bent pivot screw to pass through.
If you're not sure how big the hole is, we recommend starting small. It is always easier to use a larger bit to widen the hole. But too big a hole will make the mount go bad.
Secure the TV stand with toggle screws
Note: Do not use hollow wall anchors or plastic wall clips to wall mount your TV.
You need something a lot sturdier to keep your TV from falling over.
A 3" x 8" toggle screw in drywall can support 50 pounds per screw. While plastic wall anchors can only support 15lbs per anchor.
As an alternative to toggle screws, you can also use a molly screw. They can carry up to 50 pounds per stallion.
Both screws help secure it to the wall to distribute the force once tightened.
Fix the mounting plate to the TV
This is where you attach the mounting plate to the back of your TV. Most wall mount systems come with specific TV brackets that only fit your TV model.
They are also available in 2 pieces, one to fix on the wall and the other on the TV.
By fixing the mounting plate to the TV, you can slide the TV onto the wall bracket. This saves you from having to screw your TV to a wall bracket while it's on the air.
Turn off the tv
After fixing the TV wall bracket with sturdy dowels and attaching the mounting plate to the TV, you can hang the TV.
With the help of a partner, do a two-person lift. Then slide the mounting plate into the bracket to hang the TV securely on the wall.
If the chimney is very high, a ladder or stool can be used to facilitate the installation.

However, if you decide to mount it on a brick, be sure to drill into the brick itself.Do not drill into the mortar.Otherwise, your entire TV will end up on the floor.
Tips for hiding wires when mounting a TV over a fireplace?
If you want a clean look in your living room, hiding your TV cables is essential.
How well you can hide your TV cables depends on the construction of the wall.
In a newer home, there's a good chance you'll have an outlet for the TV above the fireplace. If so, you're in luck because you don't have to do anything.
If you can't find a wall outlet, see if the fireplace has one built-in. You can route your cables behind the wall and into this outlet.
However, digging strips in drywall to run the wires through can be very difficult. Therefore we recommend acable duct in the wall. There are two types. One that leads directly to the exit and one that follows a custom path. You can choose the one that best fits your TV.
Furthermore, the built-in cable ducts are extremely easy to install and blend harmoniously into the wall.
tidy things up...
