In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you take on the role of Eivor, who travels across Europe in search of a new home. The thing about AC Valhalla is that gone are the days when you just had to be a silent killer. The Valhalla Eivor can do almost anything you want it to do. The Gorgon Shield is the best light shield in Assassin's Creed Valhalla with the best base stats and boy is it light! Registering just 9 weight points is sure to suit your Raven playstyle.

The Gorgon Shield is not that easy to obtain and cannot be found in the wild. Collect all 52 Roman artifacts and bring them to Octavian in Valhalla. I especially like playing with him as he doesn't hinder my speed but doesn't affect my defense either.

2. The best free heavy shield in AC Valhalla

Plank and Buckler Shield is the best heavy shield in Assassin's Creed that isn't part of microtransactions if you get it at max level.

A superior heavy shield, the Plank and Buckler shield may not have the best base stats, but if you fully upgrade it, it's a pure beast! Combine that with his buff to increase his high parry damage and you're spot on.

To get the Plank and Buckler Shield you need to find an underground tunnel just above a camp in East Anglia. You can find it in the eastern part known as Sutton Hoo.

Arguably the most extraordinary heavy shield in the world, the Hircocervus Scale is sure to catch your eye. The shield perk increases your melee damage when blocking and also glows, speak of a cool shield!

That's not the only thing unique about this shield, you can't get it without purchasing the Draugr armor set for $20 or 2,300 Helix Credits. In other words, it's part of a microtransaction.

The Hircocervus Scale is the best shield you can buy in AC Valhalla for $20 or 2300 Helix Credits. Unlike other devices, it will cost you real dollars.

The heavy shield is part of the Draugr armor set and you also get:

The Draugr is one of the spookiest armor sets in the game and you won't regret buying it. Personally, if I were buying this set for just the shield I'd skip it as I prefer the lighter shields over the full tower shields, but if you're looking for a full armor set then this is a no-brainer.

Since AC Valhalla offers both light and heavy shields, I've broken the list down into these two sections as well, so choose what suits your playstyle.

The Drekar Shield can be purchased from Tamworth Keep or Ravensthorpe in your upgraded Settlement for 500 Silver. Combine that with his perk, which gives you a health regen after five successful blocks.

If you don't want to spend the prize, you can also find the Drekar Shield at Cavella's outpost in Hamtunscire. The shield is in a chest in a hidden room under the Coliseum.

The Spartan Shield is in a hidden area behind a wall near the Old Gravesham Bridge in Essexxe. Use an oil bottle or dust trap to destroy the destructible wall.

The Morrigan's Guard isn't an early game shield, so you'll have to wait before you can get your hands on this shield, but it will be worth the wait. This shield has fairly high stats and is very light in combination with them. Morrigan's Guard has a 33% chance to emit a poison cloud on successful defense.

To get Morrigan's Guard Shield, you must go to Belas Knap, Glowecestrescire. The chest with the shield is in a large tree protected by three padlocks. All keys are in and around nearby areas.
